Development of smart traceability applications, decentralised supply chain networks, and sustainable technologies for the hygienic, safe and sustainable integration of food by-products in pig feed

Projects Overview

The CPigFeed project aims to develop intelligent information tools and traceability applications for a decentralized food by-product supply chain around a model pig farm. It focuses on safely incorporating food by-products into pig feed, assessing their impact on animal health, welfare, and meat quality. Key objectives include evaluating by-product availability and safety, developing traceability tools, piloting the supply chain, collecting economic data, and informing pig farmers on sustainability and project outcomes.
